Hello Chef’s, Owners and Managers,

 

Gem Squash are the latest new product in market. They are a good source of Vitamin C, Anti-oxidants, iron, fibre, folate, potassium and niacin.  They are a bit bigger than an orange and cross between pumpkin and zucchini!alt

In other Market news;

Chervil - The main chervil farmer had an issue with his crop this year which has created a massive shortage in market.  We are getting only 25% of what we need.  This will improve over the next couple of weeks and we hope to be back in full swing by mid march on the Chervil front.

Cauliflower, eggplant, broccoli and zucchini are starting to ease in price as more produce flows into market.

Tomatoes have gone up in price slightly and should now hold for the next week, quality is very good.

Fennel and Baby Fennel is now available in market

New Potato Varieties available in 15kg boxes

  • Cecile - a small, elongated (kiphler shape), red skin, yellow flesh potato A great all rounder
  • Maralyn - a small elongated (kiphler shape), white skin, white flesh potato.  Great for boiling and mash.

Strawberry growers in the Yarra Valley are now back in swing after losing their first crop for the season.  We will see quality increase over the next week or two.

Lemons - the new season Aussie lemon season is about to begin.  We have seen them increase in price until more stock enters market. Then prices will ease.

Cherry's have now finished.

William pears - new season are now in market

Horseraddish is still a month away

Royal Gala and Golden Delicious new season Apples are now in market and beautiful eating

  • Red Grapes
  • Broccoli
  • Lebanese Cucumbers

 

Prices are up on;

  • Premium Garlic
  • Lemons
  • Tomatoes
